Melic Review
The new issue of the Melic Review is up. Here is a link to a few poems I have in there. They're not much like what I normally write. It was a phase, you know. Actually, it was supposed to be a long series of poems, maybe a whole book, which began with one poem from which all subsequent poems took their first lines. I thought it would be generative. It was for a while. These are three poems of the eight that the project generated.
I find though that I am better off without devices like this. I am a more involved writer when nothing is dictated. I build better when I build from scratch. I think.
I leave for DC in two days. I hope they'll have a good show for the 4th this year. They did last time I was there. And I guess I'll go to it. (Unless someone wants to invite me to, like, a BBQ or something. You know. No pressure.)
By the way, I think I will be reading with a few of the Lucipo poets up in Baltimore later in July. (They scare me, but I love them.) And depending on when they'll be in NY and Philly, I may join them there as well. I don't know -- could be I live in a fantasy land where I can be everywhere at once. I do have a job to do in DC. I haven't forgotten about that.
Over and out . . .
